I am experiencing a terrible writer’s block now – that’s what military does to your brain. It’s so bad I cannot bear to post the original first three paragraphs of this post.
In place of words that even a six-year-old would criticize, here’s a ton of photos to make you hungry. ( God I hate resizing and watermarking. ) I would really love to share with you where to find these places but I’ve forgotten the eateries’ names, and also I made the mistake of not taking photos of the shop itself, so apologies on my part. I will try to fill in as much information as possible in the captions.

This beef udon is from the restaurant just outside my hotel in Shinjuku ( restaurant photo above ). Very popular place with a wide selection of udon and side dishes.

From a really expensive fruit dessert parlour - mango and waffles. If I'm not wrong, their menu changes every month to accommodate their fruit of the month creations.

From a unagi restaurant at Takashimaya shopping centre. Won't recommend it unless you're crazy about eel.
If you’d realised, I didn’t eat much on this Tokyo trip and even so, most of the food were not Japanese. I have no idea why, but we just weren’t in the mood for Japanese cuisine. Weird, ain’t it? Maybe it’s because there’s already a good variety of Japanese food available back home. You might have also noticed that most of the food were eaten at Takashimaya. Actually the food levels on the top floors of the Takashimaya building offer a great variety of cuisine to choose from, so if you’re staying in the Shinjuku area you could practically have your meals there every day!
If you’re looking for authentic Japanese cuisine, stay tuned for another post where I will post photos from my 2008 trip – a Japanese food feast it was.
