Our student ez-link cards may be useless for traveling now, but they still have other benefits.
With the card, you still get concessions for movies and food!
KFC student deals are the best so far – you don’t really get shortchanged ( apart from the exclusion of coleslaw but who eats that anyway ) unlike other fast food outlets where you get a smaller portion of the actual meal ie fries and drinks are small.
Currently Dome Cafe at Marina Square is celebrating their opening ( actually they’ve already been there for a few months ) with lots of promotions. Check out the advert below.

After pondering over the menu for a while, I decided to go with the lamb shank since it’s rare to find a piece of meat that is not beef, chicken or fish. I thought there was a lot of gravy on first sight, which would have been wonderful, but turns out looks can be deceiving.
The gravy serving was too little for the big piece of meat which in my opinion tasted a bit bland and was leaning towards chicken in terms of texture – I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be like this because it’s my first time eating such a dish. The mashed potato served wasn’t too bad, not too watery and with a nice buttery taste. On the other hand, the vegetables, especially the brocolli, tasted as though they had been left overnight and not cooked. They were hard and very bland. ( $15.80 without GST and service charge – 3.5/5 )
Overall, there’s nothing really to shout about other than the fact that 25% off the price with tax included is a good deal. Perhaps if you’re in Marina Square you might want to drop by as well. I would recommend having a sandwich or cake instead as that’s what they are known for.
